Colibrí es algo que quiero que se encuentre por las calles en mayo o junio y conforme pasen las semanas iré mostrando avances para que se den una idea de que se trata, de antemano les aviso que no es un cómic, aunque esto no quiere decir que la secuencia no pueda estar relacionada. Lo de arriba es un preliminar, aún no estoy convencido de ciertos detalles (aunque la letra me parece genial), pero siento que falta poco para llegar a algo que me agrade al 100. Los que recuerden a Novaro probablemente se irán haciendo una idea de la elección del nombre.

I made some improvements in that prehistoric alien from the previous entry and my sketchbook have some loose sketches with elongated figures, Im trying to play a little with another style… not just in drawing but also on coloring.

I was looking for a chance to do something related to My Name is Red (an excellent book by Orhan Pamuk). Master Elegant Effendi provides a charming (and dead) background.

This smart little pig who steals the North Star (and the girl at left) is based in some short story from Les Contes de la Rue Broca (by Pierre Gripari). Sadly, I dont find the animated series in english.

UPDATE! [23.08.2011] Mister Mulligan in technicolor:

At first, this guy looked like some kind of monster but after inks were done I just see a random guy… yeah! with grey skin and a human head in his left hand but a random (maybe funny) guy after all. This time I dont really care about coloring, I use random brushes and cuts.

My country celebrates comic Cantinflas on the centennial of his birth. Weeks ago I was reading “El Diablo me Obligó” in which could be read a reference from a classic plastic toy that I remember from my childhood: Devil Cantinflas!
