…Vivo adentro, existo fuera… inhalo afuera, exhalo adentro.”
Ouch!

Kara (Black) is the main character in Benim Adım Kırmızı (My Name is Red) by Orhan Pamuk. This is just my first attempt to make a full illustration based in Pamuk´s book, that is my current favorite book. At the same time is part of the development for another idea influenced by turkish culture and pirates.
My Name is Red was my first novel by Orhan Pamuk (who was recommended to me by my dad), since then, I have read two books by the same author (Snow and The New Life), but My Name is Red is still my favorite.
More time to practice, write and draw. In fact, Im excited because at last my first script proposal for a foreign project is done (and send to the talented artist), hope to say more in future times.
Above image is going to be my next blog header, current one comes from Daughter of the Sea first page (of 4) and promo published in a mexican comic book anthology and would be nice make an original piece just for this space. Next image is just an inking and shading practice, also want to practice cut colors and cell-shading colors with every one.
Labyrinths was a short story based on some Jorge Luis Borges fable, originally published in Openhaüs.03 (in b&w)… soon will be available at full color here.
Heres part of color process from page 1.
Bigger image here.
Stay tuned.
Im inking a couple of draws in my free time, the first was my attempt to make something for the Ivan Brodsky remake/remodel thread in Whitechapel forum but I dont finish at time and the sketch was here… alone :( …until now! :)
