Selfportrait

Is a real shame to show you this but I try for first time to draw a selfportrait, this is even more embarrassing than that seminude pictures from some years ago. As excuse I could say that I draw this without any photo references but sounds so stupid since I know me since… forever!

Flat colors

I draw this charachters for yesterday´s final color assignment* to my students at Ethos Academy. So long since I finish something in that cartoonish style. I like enough to come at home and apply a little more complex version in some recent sketch… [Read more]

Two pieces in progress

More time to practice, write and draw. In fact, Im excited because at last my first script proposal for a foreign project is done (and send to the talented artist), hope to say more in future times.

Above image is going to be my next blog header, current one comes from Daughter of the Sea first page (of 4) and promo published in a mexican comic book anthology and would be nice make an original piece just for this space. Next image is just an inking and shading practice, also want to practice cut colors and cell-shading colors with every one.

60min sketch 002

This time I try with a character of mine.

Harder than Sandman because I redesign the outfit (the first one was close to that ugly green Quicksilver costume), still need changes in belt, in fact… he needs that belt? I like grayscales and next sketches will be upload in the same way.

I tend to lost precious time on details, I MUST focus on form. And I need a blue pencil, I remember how much helps to final render.

::60min sketch 002::

Next one must be a character in movement, and must be a (sexy?) woman!!

60min sketch 001

::sandman final::

I visit Eric Canete´s blog today and that inspires me to make my version of his 90min exercise… the 60min exercise!! the first one featuring the always lovely Morpheus, King of Dreams. Im extremely slow to draw and Im taking an hour almost every day (since last month) to optimize my times. Here´s a close-up to final bw art…

::sandman close-up::

Still need a lot of practice! and I will show you some ones in this new category untitled Practice.

Practice!
